Visits but No Orders? 9 Reasons Your Online Store Is Not Selling

Your ads are bringing people to the store. Analytics shows the visits. But the orders are not coming. This is the most common message I get from brand owners, and in most cases the problem is not the product or the price. It is a handful of small things on the site that make visitors hesitate and leave.

Here are the nine I fix most often, with examples from stores I have built.

1. The store is slow on mobile

Most of your visitors come from Instagram, TikTok or WhatsApp on a phone, often on mobile data. If the first screen takes more than three seconds to appear, many of them never see your product. Compress images, remove apps you do not use, and test on a real phone, not only on your laptop.

2. Shipping, payment and returns are hidden

Before anyone adds to cart, they want three answers: Can I pay on delivery? When will it arrive? Can I exchange it? On Tryout Fit these three lines sit above the hero, not on a policy page nobody opens. That one change answers the question that stops most first-time buyers.

3. Customers cannot find what they came for

People shop by need, not by your internal product names. Super Vitamins groups supplements by health goal, such as hair and skin, immunity, or bones and joints, because that is how customers think. Hamdy Pharmacy puts its categories before anything else on the home page for the same reason. On my own skincare store Lev`N, serums are sorted by skin goal: acne, hydration and oil control.

4. The product page does not answer questions

A good product page replaces the salesperson. Show the price clearly, real photos from several angles, a size guide for clothing, ingredients and usage for cosmetics, and a short FAQ. On 9-Nine Store the size guide, care and returns details and verified reviews all sit on the product page, so the customer never has to leave it to decide. On Lev`N, every serum page answers whether it can be used with vitamin C, the question customers ask most.

5. There is no reason to trust you yet

A new visitor does not know your brand. Show what proves you are real: customer reviews, photos from real customers, your licence or commercial registration, a physical address or branch list. Travels Season shows its tourism licence number and real Google reviews, because travellers check both before paying a deposit.

6. Checkout asks for too much

Every extra field or step loses buyers. Allow guest checkout, keep the form short, show the total including shipping early, and offer the payment methods your market expects, especially cash on delivery in Egypt and much of the Gulf.

7. WhatsApp is missing or hard to find

For many brands in our region, WhatsApp is where the sale actually closes. A visible WhatsApp button with a pre-written message turns hesitation into a conversation. On Nishman most orders arrive through the floating WhatsApp button, not the cart.

8. There is no reason to buy more than one item

Bundles and simple offers increase order value without discounting everything. Tryout Fit runs a buy two, get the third free offer and reminds the customer of it right under the add to cart button, where the decision about a second piece is made.

9. You are not measuring anything

Without tracking you are guessing. Connect Google Analytics and your ad pixels, and watch where people drop off: on the product page, the cart or the checkout. Fix the biggest leak first, then the next one.

A quick checklist

  • First screen loads in under three seconds on a phone.
  • Payment, delivery time and exchange policy visible before the cart.
  • Categories named the way customers search.
  • Product pages with clear photos, sizes or ingredients, and an FAQ.
  • Reviews, licence and contact details easy to find.
  • Short checkout with cash on delivery where it matters.
  • A WhatsApp button on every page.
  • One clear offer that rewards buying more.
  • Analytics and pixels tracking purchases.
